Data mining - The OCR engine contains look up tables/templates of various record types, i.e. U-1 forms, construction drawings, Inspection Histories, UT Inspections and Drawings for different asset types and identifies “anchor points” to determine within a level of confidence that a particular document is a U-1 form for a particular heat exchanger. And because the required fields are known for each record and asset type, a U-1 form can be graded to within a percent accuracy and put into data buckets specific to a particular asset i.e. a storage tank, heat exchanger or column. Where gaps exist, a low cost subject matter expert, familiar with say exchanger U1 forms completes any missing data not picked up as part of the OCR process.
